Confidence starts from within, and it makes you feel good when youâre wearing something that allows you to feel sexy, bold and clean. Â
Okay, so we mentioned the word âcleanâ (next to words bold and sexy) and we want to emphasize on that today.
We took the liberty to write down several tips on how to properly wash and dry your undies.
Read on...
1. First off â make sure to wash your underwear after every use! Sweaty undies are unattractive and uncomfortable (donât even think of sniffing them). Â
Itâs best to have good hygiene and avoid fecal or bacterial build up, so wash your undies after each wear. Â Remember, jock itch is the combination of moisture collection AND skin rubbing plus a possible bacterial infection from lack of personal cleanliness.

3. Fabrics like cotton, bamboo, and most synthetics can usually be machine washed, while fabrics like silk, wool or lace are best left hand washed. Â The less traditional looking your underwear is, the more youâll need to wash it by hand.
4. Separate white and colored undies and keep your delicate clothes together, away from rougher fabrics like jeans to minimize fabric friction. Â Underwear is considered delicate, so treat it like one!
5. Before tossing your undies in the washer, turn your underwear inside out. Though the reason is pretty obvious, this is a VITAL step. It improves the quality of wash and stain removal and makes sure they are squeaky clean.
6. Stains should be pre-treated before washing. Â Â You can use some stain remover on dirty garments. NEVER throw in stained clothes into the washer because doing this can set the stains even more. Â Â
We suggest using a small amount of hand soap. Â Just rub the soap and fabric together and watch the stain dissolve. Â Â A splash of white vinegar also helps with odor and stain removal!
7. When it comes to detergents, look for something WITHOUT chlorine, artificial fragrances and bleach. Â Stay away from using fabric softeners as well.
8. Use the âgentleâ cycle. Â Natural fibers like bamboo and modal are known for their soft texture. Â A harsh cycle can cause lint pills to develop and eventually damage your underwear.
9. When it comes to your washing machineâs temperature, DO NOT expose your undies to high heat. Â Just keep it between cold or warm. Bamboo fabrics are best-taken care of when washed in cold to warm water with a gentle, bleach-free detergent. High heat can cause your elastic and fabric to degrade.
10. When it comes to drying, you have two options: Toss them into the dryer at the lowest possible setting OR hang them to air dry in the shade. The latter will help the color and quality last longer, but can usually lead to a stiffer touch. Â Avoid direct sunlight because can fade the colors and degrade elastics.Â
It also takes much longer to air dry, obviously, but we highly recommend this.  If youâre in a hurry and you want fast-drying menâs underwear instantly, you can opt to tumble dry.  This will keep your undies softer and dry faster, but may wear away the color and could shrink them a bit.
So, to avoid stains and sweaty undies, change after every use.  Avoid underwear thatâs too tight and rubs your crotch. Use breathable, moisture-wicking underwear that so it doesnât settle into your skin like cotton or bamboo fabric.   The latter is made up of incredibly soft material fit for long periods of sitting and an active lifestyle.
So, there you have it!
Enjoy your clean underwear and get them dirty âagain! Â Donât forget to wash them after every use âș
